Nine Panthers Named to Academic All-District Team

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced the 2022-23 Academic All-District men's and women's soccer teams. Ferrum had nine student-athletes, six women and three men named to the All-District team. All are now on the ballot for CSC Academic All-America. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Jamie Adams, a sophomore forward from Christiansburg, Virginia, is an Education major. She was an 2021-22 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Academic team honoree, and named to the Deans List twice. Adams finished the season with six goals and two assists. Ali Austin a senior goalie from Forest, Virginia, is a Business major and three-time ODAC All-Academic team honoree. Austin was named to Presidents List and Deans List three times each. She had a 6-9-2 record with 105 saves, three shutouts, and one assist this fall.

Kayla Fedison is a sophomore defender, from Roanoke, Virginia, and a Health and Human Performance major. Fedison was named to the Presidents List twice, a 2021-22 ODAC All-Academic team honoree, and scored goals this season. Amber Gillen is a sophomore defender from Farmville, Virginia, and a Secondary Education major. She earned Presidents List twice, was a 2021-22 ODAC All-Academic team honoree, and scored one goal during the season. 

Allison Setlak is a senior midfielder from Cary, North Carolina, and is a Business major. Setlak was named to the Presidents List seven times and Deans List once. This fall, she became Ferrum's fourth ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Setlak is a three-time ODAC All-Academic team honoree who recorded seven goals and three assists this season. Haley Woodward is a sophomore defender from Salem, Virginia, a Pre-Professional Health Sciences major. She is a 2021-22 ODAC All-Academic team honoree, earned Presidents List twice and had one assist this fall.

MEN'S SOCCER
Nicholas Berruti is a sophomore forward from Savona, Italy, and a Business Management major. He was a 2021-22 ODAC All-Academic team honoree, named to the Presidents List twice, and had three goals this season. Pedro Fonseca is a junior defender from Lisbon, Portugal, and a Health and Human Performance major. Fonseca is a three-time ODAC All-Academic team honoree, who collected four Presidents List honors, and had one assist this fall. David Miller is a senior midfielder from Suffolk, Virginia, and a Business Administration and Financial Management double major. Miller is a three-time ODAC All-Academic honoree, and was named to Presidents List and Deans List twice each. Miller was the Outstanding Student in Finance for the 2021-22 school year.
