Football Falls at Randolph-Macon

Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference football contest to Randolph-Macon College this afternoon on the road, falling 52-10 at Day Field.

THE BASICS
Ferrum opened scoring with Ryan Downer's 14-yard touchdown pass from Joshua Luckett at 10:52 of the first quarter. Randolph-Macon evened the score when Andrew Ihle ran in from two yards out at 3:34 of the first to end the first quarter tied 7-7.

The Yellow Jackets would score four more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 35-7 lead into the locker room. David Willis hauled in a pair of touchdown passes from Drew Campanale at 14:06 and 10:15, then Ihle added two touchdown runs, 7-yarder at 5:50 and a 13-yarder at 2:03.

Randolph-Macon opened the third quarter with an Ihle 12-yard TD run at 11:35 to make it a 42-7 game. Kyle Ihle then split the uprights from 33 yards out at 14:08 of the fourth quarter to make it a 45-7 game.

Seth Deaton added three points for the Panthers with an 34-yard field goal at 11:02 of the fourth quarter to trim the lead to 45-10. but the Yellow Jackets answered a short time later when Dominick Staple intercepted a Brayden Hawkins pass and returned it 15 yards for the final score.

NEXT UP
Coach Cleive Adams' team will close out the season Saturday, November 12, at home against Averett University. The ODAC game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and will be preceded by a Senior Day ceremony. At halftime, the College will introduce the Hall of Fame's class of 2022.
