Ferrum College Athletics issued the following announcement on July 12
The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Association has named its 2021 College Division Baseball All-State Team, and Ferrum College's Josh Greenway has been named a first team selection.
Greenway joined 15 other players from across the Commonwealth of Virginia on the VaSID All-State first team, including Player of the Year Colby Martin of Shenandoah University and Pitcher of the Year Brandon Pond of University of Lynchburg. Rounding out the state's top awards were Rookie of the Year Jay Casidy of Christopher Newport University and Coach of the Year Lucas Jones of Lynchburg.
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
A senior outfielder from Roanoke, Virginia, Greenway batted .345 this season for the Panthers with nine doubles, three triples and two home runs. He had 41 base hits, scored 28 runs, drove in 29 runs, and posted a .521 slugging percentage. Greenway earned All-Conference first team honors from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in 2021, and was the ODAC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Greenway made the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-South Region third team this spring, and was one of six student-athletes from Ferrum named to the 2021 VaSID Academic All-State Team.
Greenway was an Academic All-District first team selection as named by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is currently in contention for CoSIDA's Academic All-America Team, the announcement for which is expected to be made later this week.
