There were seven American Indian students enrolled in Salem City Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 250% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Salem City Public Schools District welcomed 4,318 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Salem City Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Salem City and has a main office in Salem.

Among the seven schools in Salem City Public Schools District, Virginia Virtual Academy at Salem recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2023-24 school year.
