Warren Selected to Virginia Sports Hall of Fame

Ferrum College Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 2

Former Ferrum College football standout Chris Warren has been slated for induction into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2022. 

Warren transferred to Ferrum from the University of Virginia in 1988 and competed two seasons for Ferrum. He led the Black Hats to back-to-back NCAA Division III South Region Championships in 1988 and 1989.

Warren was a two-time All-American for the Panthers, and a two-time Virginia Sports Information Directors State College Division Player of the Year. He is a member of the Ferrum College Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2000.

Warren holds several Panther football records, including season all-purpose yards (2,366 yards), career yards per rush (8.2), career punt return yards (756), season scoring (138 pts), season touchdowns (17), and season return touchdown (4 punt returns, 1 kickoff return), which was an Division III record in 1989.

Warren was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 4th round of the 1990 National Football League Draft. He went on to play seven seasons with the Seahawks (1990-97), two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (1998-2000), and one with the Philadelphia Eagles (2000). In his 11-year NFL career, Warren rushed for 7,696 yards, had 1,935 receiving yards, and scored 58 career touchdowns. Warren participated in three Pro Bowls (1993, 1994, 1995) and was All Pro in 1994 and 1995.
