Cost of college went up for all students at Hollins University

Tuition and fees rose 2 percent for 2018-19 at Hollins University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $39,035 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $750 more than the $38,285 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 155 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.1 million and 114 students took out student loans totaling more than $890,349.

Including all undergraduates (805), 626 students used grants or scholarships totaling $20 million, and 454 students took out $3.6 million in federal student loans.
