The only school district in Franklin County suffered declining enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 6,160 students in Franklin County Public Schools District, 1.5% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Franklin County was steady with the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.2% of them were male, and 48.8% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 73.4% of Franklin County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Franklin County Public Schools District has a main office in Rocky Mount and is the only school district within Franklin County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
