Census Bureau: 81.1% of people in Salem City were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 25,335 citizens living in Salem City in 2021, 81.1% were old enough to vote, equating to 20,537 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 9,655 were male, constituting 47%, and 10,882 were female, making up 53%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Salem City during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.9%.
