Ferrum College's baseball team was defeated, 5-2 by Southern Virginia this afternoon in non-conference action at Perry McCluer High School.

THE BASICS
Benjamin Horsley hit a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning to give Southern Virginia an early 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Will Parker knocked in a two-run single to lead 4-0. Grayson Chitwood's hit a double to lead-off in the fourth inning and would come around to score on Nick Funk's sacrifice fly to left field.
Kristian Barcroft advanced to third on a bad throw after stealing second in the top of the fifth. Justin Brady would then bring him home on a sacrifice fly to right field. Mitchell Smith scored the games final run on a double in the bottom of the fifth.
