The Ferrum College men's basketball team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game on the road to the University of Lynchburg 88-78, in Turner Gymnasium this evening.

THE BASICS
Alex Fitch capped off a 7-0 run to start the game with a three-pointer for Lynchburg. Calvin Washington scored Ferrum's next six points and Deshone Hicks added three of his career high 40 points on the night, to cut it to a 11-9 Hornet lead. Trey Pittman hit a pair of free throws to help Lynchburg go on a 14-0 run and give them a 29-11 lead with 7:21 left to play in the half. The Hornets took a 44-29 lead heading into the break.
After a three minute scoring drought, Fitch nailed a jumper and Washington hit a long jumper to break the drought, for their teams. Jamar Butler hit a jumper in the paint to cut the lead to 60-51 with 9:27 remaining in the game. Lynchburg responded with a run of their own to get the lead back to 20 points, with 4:59 left on a Pittman layup. The Panthers cut that lead in half to close out the game on the road.
