Berger Named Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success, Inclusion & Leadership at Ferrum College

Director of Athletics John Sutyak has announced the hiring of Dajah Berger as the new Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success, Inclusion & Leadership at Ferrum College.

Berger's responsibilities will include working with athletes on four key areas: Character, Performance, Involvement, and Self-Care. In addition, she will serve as a partner and liaison to the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs Divisions, particularly the Academic Advising office and Office of Student Life & Engagement.

"We are very excited to welcome Dajah to Ferrum as our Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success, Inclusion & Leadership," stated Sutyak. "This role was developed to enhance our student-athlete involvement by providing meaningful experiences that will elevate the success of our students on and off the field. Dajah's experience at VCU and Altavista Combined School will help us achieve these goals as we work to make the Ferrum College student-athlete experience a significant piece of our students' lives."

Berger comes to Ferrum from Altavista, where she was the Assistant Athletic Director. While there, she designed and maintained the Altavista Athletic Hall of Fame website, created game day graphics for social media pages, and organized parent meetings for each sport.

"I am truly grateful for this opportunity at Ferrum," stated Berger. "I am excited to start working with everyone on campus and making a difference in the lives of the student-athletes."

Berger graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport and recreation management, with a minor in Business in 2020. She also holds a Masters degree in sport leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2021. She begins work on August 8th.
