Pet Policy – Visitors are requested to leave their pets at home during the Buchanan Community Carnival and Fourth of July Parade. The crowded events create an environment that is not conducive to our four legged friends. The safety of both you and your pet is important to us and we ask that all visitors adhere to this policy.

Rediscover life in small town America during Buchanan’s 68th annual Buchanan Community Carnival beginning Thursday, June 30th continuing through Saturday, July 9th 6pm – 11pm dependent on weather. (The Carnival is closed on Sunday, July 3rd.) Any weather closures will be noted on the Town Facebook page. Explore our midway where you will find family oriented Games, Rides provided by Coles Amusements, and great Food including Buchanan's own signature “Carnival Burgers,” Petros, and world famous Fries!

Buchanan Parade
Main Street closes at 4:00 pm on Monday, July 4th to allow for line up of the parade. The parade begins at 5:00 pm. This year’s parade will be led by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Department Color Guard.
Parade winners will be announced from Center Stage following the parade. Winners may pick up their trophies from the Carnival Office at the entrance of the Town Park.
