Ferrum College picked up a non-conference win against Southern Virginia University at Panther field this afternoon, 10-0.

Basics
In the Bottom of the first Jacob Gladstone doubled to right center field, to drive in the first two runs of the game. The Panthers added three more runs in the third, off of a Nick Funk single, a wild pitch, and a groundout to put Ferrum up 5-0. Grayson Chitwood collected an RBI in the fourth and Jacob Gladstone scored on error in the seventh. Sebastian Dexter laid down a bunt the first base line and drove in a run. Davis Yeaman closed out the scoring for the Panthers with a 2-run double down the left field line.
Starter Brady Owen pitched 2.0 innings, giving up one hit, no runs, with a walk, and three strikeouts. Relief pitcher Devon Boothe (1-1) earned his first win of the season. He pitched 7.0 innings, allowing six hits, no runs, with 2 walks, and three strikeouts. Starting pitcher for Southern Virginia, Kenyon Swartz (0-1) was charged with the loss. He allowed one hit, two runs, with two walks and two strikeouts.
