Hollins University Athletics issued the following announcement on Feb. 2

The Lead: A Kate Kolb basket with six seconds remaining gave Lynchburg 54-53 win over Hollins Wednesday evening in Roanoke.
Highlights:
- Kayla Surles had 11 points as she became the 12th player in Hollins history to eclipse the 1,000 career-point milestone. Surles accomplishes the feat in just three seasons and 67 career games.
- Tia Tucker had 13 points and five steals on the night to lead the Green & Gold. Moriah Hill had nine points, while Xavia Hahn chipped in with seven points. Hahn and Cabria Mutz tied for the team lead with seven rebounds each.
- Hollins made 4-of-13 shots from the field in the first quarter to hold a 11-9 advantage after the first 10 minutes of play.
- The second quarter was back and forth, with Hollins able to open up a five-point lead on two occasions, the second of which coming when Mackinzie Henninger knocked down a three-pointer with under a minute to go in the half.
- After Lynchburg drained a three-pointer on its ensuing possession to cut the HU lead to two, Hahn scored as time expired to send HU to the locker room up 31-27.
- A basket by Surles and a free-throw by Tucker to open the second half pushed the HU lead to 34-27.
- Lynchburg scored five straight to pull within two before Hollins pushed its lead back to five points following a free-throw by Tucker 7:08 to play.
- With the score tied at 42 with just over four minutes to play in the third, Hollins scored five of the final six points of the quarter to lead 47-43.
- Hollins led throughout the fourth quarter with a Hahn jumper making it 53-47 with three and a half minutes to play in the game.
- Lynchburg would score the final seven points, the final of which coming from Kolb.
