Ferrum College Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 18
Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball road game to Roanoke College, falling 84-60 tonight at the Cregger Center.

THE BASICS
James Smith Jr. lit the scoreboard up early, dropping 14 points for the Panthers in the first half, including four shots from behind the arc.
Ferrum jumped out to an early 14-10 lead, including a pair of three-pointers from Smith, and one each from Bryce Hall and Anthony Taylor Jr.
The two teams played evenly from there, with the Maroons grabbing a 33-29 lead just before the end of the first half. Smith's layup with 0:02 showing on the clock made it a 33-31 game at the break.
Michael Spraggins' layup for Ferrum at the 15:34 mark of the second half cut the lead to 43-41. The Maroons used a 16-4 run over the next five minutes to widen the lead to 59-45 and establish control.
Hall knocked down a three-pointer and Taylor converted a layup to cut the lead to 59-50 with 8:49 left to play, but that was close as the Panthers would get as Roanoke closed with a 25-10 spurt.
