Country Legend Travis Tritt Returning to Salem

30

City of Salem issued the following announcement on Dec. 14

Platinum-selling and award-winning artist Travis Tritt is bringing his classic country sound back to the Salem Civic Center on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the show go on-sale Friday, December 17, at 10 a.m. Tritt is certainly no stranger to Salem and the region’s country music fans. He played the arena in 2015 and a year earlier, he performed in front of more than 11,000 fans at the 2014 Blue Ridge Music Festival at Salem Stadium.

The Georgia native has won four CMA awards, two Grammys and sold over 30 million records in his illustrious career. Since 1989, Tritt has put 39 of the 40 singles he’s released on the country charts.  Five of those hits, including "Help Me Hold On" and "Can I Trust You with My Heart" landed at number one, while 15 others charted in the top ten.

In addition, in June of 1996, Tritt’s “Country Club” and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” albums each went double-platinum, marking two million in sales for each album. His new album “Set in Stone” was released May 7 and it is his first original full-length studio album in over a decade.

The often-outspoken country star continues to sell-out shows and stays authentic and relevant to his fans across the globe. He is an original member of the “The Class of ‘89” - which also includes Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and Alan Jackson, all of whom are destined for the Country Music Hall of Fame in the future.

Tritt also has taken a liking to Franklin County’s own Crawford and Power. The powerful duo, featuring Jacob Crawford and Ethan Power have opened several shows for Tritt and they will again serve as his opening act on March 18.

Crawford & Power last graced the Salem Civic Center stage in September with Cody Johnson for a sold-out show. The homegrown duo also has performed with Willie Nelson, The Marshall Tucker Band, Luke Combs and 38 Special.
