Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
BUCHANAN TREE LIGHTING
Make Memories with your family during the Buchanan Tree Lighting. Join hundreds as they gather at the Buchanan Town Hall to circle around the Town Christmas Tree to welcome the arrival of the Christmas season to Buchanan, Virginia. Families and Friends gather to join hands by candlelight, sing familiar carols and join in the countdown to the lighting of the Town's Christmas Tree. Following the Tree Lighting guests are invited to take selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the Town Hall, or, around the Town Tree. Additional activities include Carriage Rides, and, the opening of the Festival of Lights on the Buchanan Town Park.
