County of Alleghany issued the following announcement on Oct. 19
ALLEGHANY COUNTY
FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT POSITION
MAINTENANCE TECH I
Alleghany County is accepting applications for a Maintenance Tech I. – Public Works Department. Successful applicant will be required to assist in installation of water and sewer connections, mainline installations, repair of leaks in the county water and sewer system, and operate dump truck, refuse truck, and other equipment.
Other duties include snow removal, brush haulage, cutting grass, and other duties as assigned. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. A CDL is preferable and will be required within 6 months of hire for those applicants who do not already possess a CDL. The starting pay range is $11.00 to $13.75.
Applications must be submitted to the Public Works Department to the attention of Ricky Bourne, Public Works Director, Alleghany County Public Works Department, 9212 Winterberry Avenue, Suite A, Covington, VA 24426.
Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
