Data showed that Franklin County school districts welcomed 6,160 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 8% of the student body to be the fourth most represented ethnicity in the county’s school districts.
Franklin County Public Schools has a main office in Rocky Mount and is the only school district within Franklin County.
As of November 2023, according to Public School Review, in the 2023-24 school year, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
