In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Alleghany County comprised 52.2% boys, with girls representing the remaining 47.8%.
Data also showed that white students made up 82.1% of the student body, the largest percentage in Alleghany County schools, followed by Black or African American students with 7%, 4.1% Hispanic students and 0.5% Asian students.
Alleghany High School had the highest enrollment among Alleghany County’s five schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 819 students.
